A former federal health minister, Professor A.B.C. Nwosu resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and its Board of Directors (BOT).
Nwosu announced that his departure from the PDP was effective January 12.
This is stated in a resignation letter sent to the National President of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, dated 12 January 2023, his party confirmed to have received his letter of resignation.
He was a founding member of the party and played an important role in party affairs at the national and regional level.
Nwosu attributed his reasoning to the fact that the PDP did not respect the principle of rotation. βThis resignation to me is a matter of CONFIDENTIALITY and PRINCIPLE due to the party’s failure to comply with its Constitutional Turnaround (PDP) clause.
βThe journey to being president that rotates between North and South Nigeria has been a long and arduous one, and I have joined it. Nigeria and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) must learn to uphold the agreement reached by the Constituent Assembly (1995) and enshrined in the Party Charter (PDP) (1998),” he said in his resignation letter. .
