The Twitter account of former United States President, Donald Trump, has being reinstated on the social media platform.
Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, had set up a ballot on Saturday to ask users at the platform whether the previous president ought to be allowed returned on the app or now not.
Over 15 million users participated inside the ballot with a slim majority of 52 percent voting for the reinstatement of the former US president.
“The human beings have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,” Musk tweeted of the previous US president’s account, which become banned last 12 months after a mob of his supporters attacked the United States Capitol.
Trump’s Twitter account changed into completely suspended from the platform in January 2021, after he become accused of inciting violence thru his tweets following the Capitol Hill riots and was termed a “risk.”
Twitter Incorporated below former proprietor, Jack Dorsey, had written in a statement, “After close evaluation of recent tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — especially how they’re being obtained and interpreted on and rancid Twitter — we’ve permanently suspended the account because of the risk of further incitement of violence.”
Trump’s reinstatement at the social media platform comes days after he introduced his plan to run for the United States presidency in 2024.
