The Federal High Court will, on March 31, commence its Easter vacation.

The Chief Judge, Justice Tsoho, disclosed this in a statement signed by the FHC’s Assistant Director of Information, Dr Catherine Oby-Christopher, saying the vacation would last till April 17.

“This is pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (b) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended).

“The court would resume sitting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in all judicial divisions,” he said.

According to the CJ, during the vacation period, the Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt judicial divisions shall remain open to the public only for cases of extreme urgency.

Tsoho said the Abuja Judiciary will hear cases in the federal capital territory, north-central, north-west and north-east regions, chaired by Judges Ahmed Mohammed and Judges Donatus Okorovo.

The Lagos branch will handle the affairs of all Southwestern countries and the Judiciary in Port Harcourt will handle all state affairs in the South-South and South-East geopolitical regions,” he said.
Judge T.G. Lin Yim and A.O. Avogborough will serve as the head referee for the Lagos division of AT referees. Mohammed and S.I. Mark will preside over the Port Harcourt chapter during the holidays.
“Judges on leave and heads of departments are encouraged to contact the Hon as usual. Chief Justice on all matters which, in their opinion, may require urgent attention and guidance from his sovereign.
