The Kwara State Government has taken temporary measures to reduce the burden on state employees as traffic has risen.
The State Chief of Staff, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, today announced that the Governor of the state, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, has ordered that the working day be reduced from five days to three days a week for every employee.
She explained that this plan is to make the state employees out of the difficulties they are facing after the withdrawal of fuel subsidy announced by the federal government.
Ms. Oluwole ordered all the heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state to quickly develop a system indicating the next working day for every employee under their responsibility.
The head of the office warned the workers not to abuse the Governor’s authority, stressing that the monitoring of the MDAs going forward in his office will be intensified to ensure that they comply with it.
