Bayern Munich striker Leon Goretzka has played down all rumors that he will join Premier League giants Manchester United this summer.
Goretzka has had a fantastic 2022/23 season for Bayern Munich. He helped the Bavarians capture the Bundesliga title by scoring six goals and registering six assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
Despite his performance, rumors are swirling about his future at Bayern. Goretzka reportedly wants a new challenge abroad, and the German star has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Speaking about the development, Goretzka denied speculation in an interview with Sport1. The 28-year-old said (via BUT): βI have no other plans than to stay at Bayern [Munich].
“We have big plans for next year, as Jo Kimmich said after the game against Ukraine.”
When asked if Bayern signing another midfielder would lead to his departure, Goretzka replied:
“Competition within the team is essential to the success of FC Bayern. The authorities are doing their job to ask everything. But I am confident that we will find a way to achieve success together in the new era.
